Bihar Election 2020 Latest Updates : The voting for the 2nd phase of Bihar election will take on 3rd November 2020. A total of 93 seats are on stake in this phase of polling. 

In first phase voting for 71 seats have already concluded. Bihar election is to be conducted in 3 phases with last phase to be held on 7th Noveber. The result will be declare on 10th of November. 

As per ADR Report, 34% candidates in 2nd phase face criminal cases.

Bihar Election 2020 Latest Updates : First Phase Districtwise Predicted winner

As Bihar votes date, psephologist Shashi Shankar Singh gives edge to RJD in First Phase of Bihar Election.

In first phase of Bihar Election voting for 71 Assembly seats from 16 discticts are taking place.

In Bhagalpur district two Assembly constituencies are going in for poll, Kahalgoan and Sultanganj.

Congress Candidate Shubannad Mukesh, Son of Veteran congress leader, Sadanand Singh is winning Kahalgoan seat while JDU has edge in Sultanganj.

Elections in all seats of Banka, Munger, Jamui, Lakhisarai, and Sheikhpura District taking place in first phase of elections:

Bihar Election 2020 Dates

The Bihar Election 2020 is scheduled to take place from 28th October. The election will be held in three phases. Of 243 Assembly seats of Bihar, in first phase 71 seats will go into polls. First phase will be held on 28th October.

In Second phase, which will be held on 3rd November, 94 seats will be go in for polls while in 3rd phase or last phase 78 seats will go in for polls. The last phase of Bihar election will take place on 7th November. The counting of votes and result declaration will be done on 10th November 2020.

Bihar Election 2020 Dates : Highlights

  • In Phase I : 71 constituencies in 16 districts will go for polls on around 31,000 polling stations.
  • Phase II : 94 constituencies in 17 districts to go for polls in around 42,000 polling stations.
  • Phase III : 78 constituencies in 15 districts to go for polls in around 33,500 polling stations.

Bihar Election 2020 Alliances and Candidates

Bihar Election 2020 is a direct fight between two alliance. National Democratic Alliance led by JDU in Bihar and Mahagathbandhan led by RJD in Bihar.

The two big partners of NDA in Bihar, JDU and BJP will be contesting on almost equal number of seats. JDU will be contesting on 122 Assembly seats while BJP would be contesting on 121 seats in upcoming Bihar election.

Smaller allies of NDA like HAM and VIP will be contesting on JDU and BJP quota. From JDU's quota, 7 seats will be contested by Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM while from BJP's quota, Mukesh Sahani's Vikassheel Insaan Party will be contesting on 11 seats.

In Mahagathbandhan, RJD grabbed a large share of seats. They will be contesting on 144 seats, Congress on 70 seats and Left Party will be contesting on 29 Assembly seats.

Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party split up from NDA in Bihar and his party will be contesting on 135 seats in upcoming Bihar election.

Bihar Election 2020 : What Happened in the 2015 Assembly Election?

In 2015, BJP fought in the name of Prime minister Modi on the other hand grand alliance fought under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and his 'good' governance. In the absence of a strong opposition face and a solid caste alliance, the grand alliance of Congress, RJD and JDU won a thumping majority in the 2015 elections by capturing 178 seats out of 243.

After the win of 2015, things didn’t go smoothly for the “Sushasan Babu” due to continues allegations of corruption against his government and charges on Lalu Yadav’s fodder scam. In 2017 charges of corruption were leveled against his Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav.

CM Nitish Kumar broke from the grand alliance rejoined National Democratic Alliance. In 2019, NDA performed well in Bihar in Lok Sabha elections in 2019 by wining 39 seats out of 40. However, the state politics was not favourable to the NDA and Nitish.

Bihar Election 2020 : Opinion Polls

As per the latest Opinion poll published by Crowdwisdom360 covering 83 seats of 10 Districts namely, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Gaya, Patna, Samastipur, Banka, Araria, Paschim Champaran and Madhubani, NDA is ahead in 38 Assembly seats while RJD+ is ahead in 48 seats.

In 2015, NDA won 50 of the 83 Assembly seats from above mentioned 10 Districts while RJD+ won 33 seats.

As per Times Now CVoter opinion poll, NDA is predicted to win about 48% of the votes while RJD+ is predicted to win 36% of the votes.

As per Opinion Poll released by ABP News- C Voters, NDA is expected to win 151 seats, RJD+ is expected to win 74 seats and Others are expected to win 18 seats in upcoming Bihar election.
