SRH vs KXIP Predictions and Betting : The weekend is here which means that the IPL 2020 has lined up double headers on both the days for fans back at home. The best part of each of these games is that it is like a virtual knockout for one of the teams in every game that will take part over the weekend.
But the most interesting and the eye catching will be when Kings XI Punjab take on SRH in a must win situation for both teams to keep their playoffs dream intact. Kings XI Punjab looks a settled side whereas SRH are a strong opposition on their day having lost close games in the tournament.
Even though both the teams would be praying for KKR to lose in the afternoon game, their focus will be on that two vital points.
SRH vs KXIP Predictions and Betting Summary
SRH vs KXIP Predictions and Betting : Recent form and head-to-head
The 2014 finalists managed just one win in the first half of the tournament and looked in no position to come back. But it looks like the comeback is alive and kicking for the team after the team has managed three consecutive victories against top teams like RCB, Mumbai Indians and DC that has brought in a lot of confidence in the side.
They have the momentum and with at least three victories from here on, they will be knocking on the doors of playoff. But they will have to improve their net run rate which might make the difference between the 4th placed and 5th placed team. They are currently in 6th position with 4 wins in the bag and would be hoping to carry the momentum for the upcoming battles.
SRH have never gone down without a challenge which is quite evident of the fact that they have made it to the play offs in the last 4 occasions in addition to an IPL victory in 2016. They have been unlucky on a couple of occasions where they have managed to lose from a winning position.
Despite injury concerns and middle order issues, the team was up to the task last night when they convincingly defeated RR which gave them two important points and pushed them to the 5th position in the table. If KKR loses tomorrow and SRH emerges victorious, the latter teams would then move to 4th place because of a net run rate. It will be interesting to see as to how both the teams approach a game like this.
Looking at how the teams have fared against each other, it is surprising to see that the KXIP have a bad record against the South Indian team with just 4 wins in 15 games as opposed to 11 wins for SRH.
This was evident in their previous meeting when the opening pair of Warner and Bairstow tore apart the Punjab attack with their bowling supporting the cause earning them a 69-run comprehensive victory. It is important for Punjab to disrupt this advantage that their opponents possess with an all-round performance on Saturday whereas SRH have the mental edge in this battle.
SRH vs KXIP Predictions and Betting : Team News
It looks like KXIP led by KL Rahul will go unchanged for the next match after a solid performance against Delhi Capitals earlier this week.
The team that looked heavily reliant on Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agarwal has looked much better in the second half with the middle order taking some responsibility. Another thing is the addition of Chris Gayle at No.3 has made sure that they don’t lose their way while setting a target or chasing after losing early wickets.
Nicholas Pooran has shown what he is capable of with a match winning half century against DC with the team faltering at 56 for 3. Glenn Maxwell has been a major concern for the team with the Australian trying to open up but failing every time. He is yet to score a maximum in 9 innings but the skipper has managed to pull out some overs from the Aussie.
Jimmy Neesham is a value addition to the team with his 3rd pacer role as well as a left hander who can tonk freely coming in at 7. Deepak Hooda might not be striking like the team wants him to but has sustained under pressure against MI and DC and is a good addition in the lower middle order for some runs.
Coming to the bowlers, the spin duo of Murugan Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi have been pretty accurate along with breakthroughs in the middle overs keeping the team in the hunt always.
Mohammed Shami has been a stand out pacer for the team who single handedly won the super over for the team against MI. He will be supported by young gun Arshdeep Singh who will have to mix his length a little to have some success. Overall, this side looks balanced as of now.
Harpreet Brar, Sarfaraz Khan, Chris Jordan and Ishan Porel are unlikely to be part of KXIP's Playing XI for this match. Sheldon Cottrell too is unlikely to play today.
SRH have always performed beyond expectations since their inception which they have repeated it once again this season. There were injury concerns right from the first game but they have managed to stay calm and are still in the hunt for the playoffs.
The opening pair of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow will have to do what they did in Dubai when they played Punjab to get off to a great start. Coming in at 3 would be Manish Pandey who was exceptional last night against RR with a match winning 83 off just 47 balls when the team was reeling with both openers back in the hut. With Manish in great form, the SRH have one less problem to deal with currently. With question marks over Kane Williamson’s availability,
Vijay Shankar will have to strike better with still two youngsters to follow him in the middle order. The only weak link can be the middle order where the youngsters Priyam Garg and Abdul Samad have shown glimpses of what they can do, but haven’t really got going until now. As far as bowling is considered, Rashid Khan is still their best bowler who time and again wins game with the ball.
The addition of Jason Holder has done a world of good for the pace attack with Sandeep Sharma and T Natarajan accompanying the West Indian. Even though Natarajan has been exceptional in nailing his yorker, he is becoming too predictive that might to be counter productive in the coming games which he will have to rectify.
Shahbaz Nadeem playing as the 2nd spinner will take some pressure of Rashid Khan bringing in a left arm variety in the side.
