MI vs DC Predictions and Betting :The Indian Premier League 2020 has finally unveiled two teams to make it to the playoffs on Monday night in the penultimate game. DC beat RCB to make it to the 2nd spot in the points table whereas Kohli men made it to the next stage with a superior NRR.

Come Thursday, the 4-time champions are waiting to pose a formidable challenge against DC who are yet to make an IPL final in 13 seasons. A win for either teams on Thursday means a direct seat in the IPL finals, but a loss here give them another go to play the winner of the eliminator in Qualifier 2.

DC vs MI Predictions and betting : Recent form and Head-to-head

MI have been the best side in this year’s IPL by a distance because of the consistency they have shown when other top teams lost their way in the second half.

Their 2020 campaign was off to a poor start with a defeat against Chennai Super Kings and RCB in the first three games but finished the first half with 5 wins and 2 losses. In the second half, despite losing two games, they were the first team to seal the playoffs spot with a win against RCB last week.

With a healthy record for them at this stage, the 4-time champions have good chance to make it to the finals on the first attempt.

DC have had a rough road after a successful first half of the season. Barring two defeats against MI and SRH, they looked like the team to beat in the league with every player turning out to be a match winner for them.

But the second half of the tournament was a bumpy ride for the side as they managed just 3 victories in 7 games and were in fact on the verge of getting knocked out if their last result didn’t go their way. They managed to pull off an important victory on Monday after 4 straight losses to get back to the second position and would be looking to avenge the two defeats in the group stage by making it to their first ever final.

Head-to-head record:

Matches – 26

DC – 12

MI – 14

Recent Meeting – MI defeated DC by 9 wickets at the Dubai International Stadium.

In UAE: SRH – 1, MI – 2.

MI vs DC Predictions and betting : Squad comparisons

Top Order: MI > DC

MI’s top order will be strengthened if Rohit Sharma gets back to the eleven. Nonetheless, Quinton de Kock has been in top form with 418 runs which includes 4 fifties who will be joined by Ishan Kishan who is having a breakthrough season with close to 400 runs in 10 innings at 143.63.

Suryakumar Yadav’s ability at 3 is very underrated as the Mumbai batsman has cored 374 runs at 153.27 in 12 innings.

Looking at DC, Prithvi Shaw has been exposed time and again to the moving ball as the youngster is going through a bad patch with 228 runs in 12 games. Shikhar Dhawan has been their savior at the top with 525 runs at a strike rate of 145.02 and played a handy knock against RCB in the last game.

Ajinkya Rahane at 3 looked like a good move but the Mumbai batsman will have to accelerate as soon as possible. Shreyas Iyer has totally looked out of sorts for the side in the last few games without a good knock coming his way. The skipper has so far scored 421 runs at a strike rate of 122.74.

Middle order and All-rounders: MI > DC

The MI middle order is the most destructive on with the likes of Pandya brothers and their trump card Kieron Pollard to do enough damage. Hardik Pandya has played as a pure batsman this season scoring 241 runs at an unbelievable strike rate of 174.63.

Kieron Pollard can go berserk in the death that will send chills down the spine for the opposition. He strikes at 200 this season and has got out on just two occasions.

Krunal Pandya hasn’t done wonders with the bat but he has more than compensated it with his tight spells with the ball that has constantly built pressure on the batsmen. But he is someone who fires in crunch moments.

For DC, the inconsistency of Rishabh Pant and Marcus Stoinis has been a big concern if the top order collapses. Despite scoring 282 runs, Pant has been far from his best which is quite evident in his strike rate of 112.35 this season.

On the other hand, Marcus Stoinis did wonders with the bat and the ball in the first half, but the Aussie all-rounder has been silent in the second part of the tournament. He has scored 249 runs at 152.76 and will be an X factor if he finds the middle of the bat.

Axar Patel slotted as the bowling all-rounder can slog well but his bowling has been exceptional this season. Even though he has been a little unlucky on the wicket front, he has bowled at an economy of 6.27 in 12 games along with 8 scalps which is quite a feat given that it’s T20 we are talking about.

Bowlers: MI = DC

The MI are expected to go back to their original combination of 3 pacers and 1 frontline spinner in the playoffs. There is no doubt that the duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult can cause severe damage to the opponents if they provide them even with an inch.

Bumrah has been exceptional for the side with 23 wickets in 13 innings at 6.96 whereas Boult has 20 wickets to compliment his partner at a strike rate of 15.40. The third pacer would be James Pattinson who has looked like an improved package with slower deliveries and yorkers.

The Aussie pacer has 11 wickets in 9 games but should try to contain instead of going for runs. Rahul Chahar has gone about his business with 15 wickets in 13 games and has never let the game slip in the middle overs. As far as DC is concerned,

Kagiso Rabada looked like he was back to his best against RCB with 2 wickets in an important game with the purple cap returning back to the youngster. Anrich Nortje won the Man of the Match for his 3-wicket haul against RCB as the Proteas pacer moved to 19 wickets in 13 games at an economy of 7.96.

R Ashwin has looked confident after taking out Virat Kohli yesterday but they will be hoping that his shoulder is fine before Thursday. The off spinner has 10 wickets in 12 games at a decent economy of 7.52. Daniel Sams proved to be a little expensive but he might get another chance on Thursday.

MI vs DC Predictions and betting : Schedule and pitch report

The Qualifier 1 of IPL 2020 between MI and DC is scheduled to be played in the Dubai International stadium on 5th November at 7.30pm IST. Mumbai Indians are coming off a dominating league stage and are longing to put up a strong performance on Thursday whereas DC who just sneaked into the Qualifier 1 would be looking to continue their good run in the tournament.

The deck in Dubai is favoring the team that is chasing with the ball skidding on as the game progresses. With long boundaries and bowlers with so many variations in their armory, somewhere around 175 would be a competitive total to defend in a high-pressure game. The betting tips will be updated as and when it comes.
