Melbourne Renegades vs Perth Scorchers Predictions: Past performance
Renegades didn’t have one of the best seasons for them in the 9th edition of the BBL. They got off to a losing start against Sydney Thunder but it didn’t end their worries, as they lost the next 8 matches without winning one until their 10th game. From then on, they managed to grab 3 victories in the last 5 outings to save some grace.
Despite some redemption at the end, Renegades had to settle for a last place finish after winning their first ever BBL title in 2018-19. This means that the side is looking to replicate the 2018 performance this season.
Perth Scorchers happened to suffer two back to back disappointing seasons as they failed to make it to the next stage in 2019. They started off with a loss against Sydney Sixers but managed to win 6 games by the end of 14 games with 12 points in their bag.
To their dismay, they failed to make it to the next stage by a margin of one point with Sydney Thunder just ahead of them. The 3-time champions are looking for their 4th one and a dominating season from their end is definitely on the cards.

Melbourne Renegades vs Perth Scorchers predictions and betting: Team News
The Renegades have found themselves a good squad to take on even the best of the sides this season. They are led by Aaron Finch who has more than 2200 runs and is in hot form currently after a poor run for RCB in the IPL.
The batting order looks sorted with the likes of Marcus Harris, Rilee Rossouw, Shaun Marsh and Beau Webster who can post or any target comfortably. Webster has an average of 34.86 and a strike rate of 126.02 whereas Marsh had an impressive debut for them where he provided 449 runs in 12 games.
Marcus Harris needs to ork on his strike rate and on his inconsistency in T20s. The all-rounders Mohammad Nabi and Will Sutherland are two handy picks who are capable of doing anything on the field. Mohammad Nabi has a strike rate of 130.76 along with 21 wickets in 27 BBL games while Sutherland has to provide better support to the Afghan all-rounder.
The bowling lineup looks strong with bowlers like James Pattinson and Kane Richardson having vast experience along with one of the greats Imran Tahir in the mix. Richardson has taken 46 scalps in 32 games at just 7.65 runs per over and is an important player in the side.
Pattinson has played 14 games where he has taken 17 wickets and is an improved player after playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Cameron Boyce is another leg spinner who might be played given that he is highly economical and takes wickets at regular intervals.
As far as Scorchers are concerned, they are captained by Mitchell Marsh who looks fresh with a zeal to win another BBL title. They have a heavy batting lineup with explosive batsmen like Jason Roy, Colin Munro, Ashton Turner and Kurtis Patterson in the fray. Jason Roy and Munro can open the innings to get them to a huge start whereas Ashton Turner has strike rate of 137.15 in 67 games so far.
Patterson should be given more chances with the potential he possesses. The preferred wicket-keeper Bancroft is a formidable player who has an average greater than 32 and a strike rate of 120 so far. Mitchell March will be joined by Cameron Green who has recently got some international exposure that will help him to perform better this season.
As far as bowling department is concerned, the pace attack looks lethal with Andrew Tye, Jhye Richardson, Jason Behrendorff and Joel Paris bringing so much of variety into the attack. The spin pair of Ashton Agar and Fawad Ahmed who have bagged 33 and 15 wickets respectively have a massive role to play in the middle overs to make sure that the run rate doesn’t go berserk.
