As the Tamil Nadu Assembly election closes in the ruling AIADMK and opposition DMK started their campaign on the ground level. However, AIADMK is still struggling to get approval for CM candidate from their ally NDA. Meanwhile, counter attack from former IPS and BJP leader Annamalai on ruling party and their administration role is creating a sense of dilemma in the minds of NDA partners.
Last Sunday, AIADMK kick started the campaign for 2021 assembly segments with all heavyweights on the stage. Announcement for CM candidate was expected by the AIADMK cadres and supporters. However, OPS thanked NDA government for their continuous support to state schemes and policy. It clearly reflected BJP version of voice from AIADMK.
It must be noted that OPS has never admired CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami for maintaining stability within his government and his administration skills for collectively running the government with much burden and loopholes.
Tamil Nadu Election Update: What happened in Recent AIADMK Public Rally?
CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami on the other hand started his public address with assurance of 7.5% medical seats for rural students and increasing the higher education in Government schools. He also attacked DMK for not implementing the policies which were promised by them during Lok Sabha elections.
AIADMK alliance partners DMDK, PMK could not find space in the event. DMDK is expected to announce its decision about the alliance in coming days. PMK on the other hand is sitting on a hard bargain with the ruling AIADMK. They have been demanding 20% quota for Vanniyars. PMK is expected to decide its stand on alliance on 31st December.
Speaking of BJP, there are rumours that BJP is trying to project a name for CM Candidate from NDA alliance for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly election. The interference of BJP in politics of AIADMK and NDA don't seem to go well. The AIADMK had made clear they in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK is the leader of NDA. AIADMK MP KP Munusamy who earlier part of OPS "Dharma Yudham"asked BJP to accept EPS as CM candidate or it may reconsider its electoral options for the upcoming poll.
Munusamy also made it clear that Tamil Nadu has grown with seeds sown by Thanthai Periyar and the state is entirely different other states in India be it from Higher education, health or in field of social justices. He was stubborn on AIADMK leading the alliance in Tamil Nadu. Its clearly indicated that his attacks were on anti Dravidian politicians, including their ally BJP and for their mute ministers.
