Best Chief Minister in India, 22nd January: As pe the latest Mood of the Nation released by Aaj Tak, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is the Best Chief Minister in India. Aaj Tak along with Karvi Insights conducted a survey in different states of India. As per the survey Yogi Adityanath is the most famous Chief Minister in India.
As per the Aaj Tak survey more than 25% people favor UP CM Yogi Adityanath to be the best among rest of the Chief Minister's in India. In August 2020, around 24% of the respondent favored the UP CM and this time his popularity has risen by more than 1%.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with 14% popularity is the 2nd best CM in India in terms of performance. Last time, that is in August 2020, he was favored by 15% of respondents. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee who is fighting to return to power once again in Bengal is the 3rd Best CM in India. She has been favored by 8% of respondents.
Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar is at 4th position as per the Aaj Tak-Karvi Survey. He is favored by 6% of respondents. Next to Nitish is Andhra CM YS Jagan Mogan Reddy. He has been favored by 6% of respondents. Last time he was favored by 11% of the respondents.
Recently ABP News also released the Desh Ka Mood survey. Here is an update on Best Chief Minister in India released by ABP News. After the survey carried out by Ormax, ABP News and CVoter have come up with a list of best CMs. Naveen Patnaik was number 1 in this survey.

1.Naveen Patnaik, 59%, up 9%
Naveen Patnaik made a huge leap this month. He gained 9% and is tied with Yogi Adityanath as No. 1 Chief Minister for the month of December.
After 9 months CM Naveen Patnaik will be addressing his first political rally on 14th January. The CM will be inaugurating the Indravati mega lift irrigation project on this day.
Naveen Patnaik recently expelled a senior party leader for anti-people activities. The MLA was accused of being involved in corruption. This has created doubts in the minds of voters
The CM whose mother is punjabi has often been criticised for his inability to speak in Odia. Yesterday he spoke with the servitors of Lingaraj Temple in Odia. He announced there will be a special act on Lingaraj Mandir soon. The Temple is nearly 1000 years old
Naveen Patnaik said that his party BJD will make women reservation a major national agenda.

1. Yogi Adityanath, 59%, down 5%, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh
CM Yogi Adityanath was number 1 in August 2020 in all the surveys - India Today mood of the nation Survey, Ormax and Crowdwisdom360. CM Yogi Adityanath was the most popular CM of India since the India Today MOTN survey of August 2019. He was back as Number 1 last month. This month despite losing some approval ratings he still retains the No. 1 spot.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath got a death threat from a anonymous caller. The caller said that with 24 hours he was going to kill the CM and if they have guts that could try and stop him.
The CM received a big boost after almost sweeping the by polls in the state. The CM recently inaugurated a foundation stone for Rs 6000 crores data centre in NOIDA
Adding one more achievement to his crown, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister rang the bells at BSE before the listing of bonds of Lucknow Municipal Corporation.

2.Shivraj Chouhan, 54%, down 5%
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been rated as No. 2 this month. But his approval rating fell by 5%.
MP CM Shivraj Singh said that the marriage age of girls sould be increased to 21 years. He said that girs are not burden and also talked about banning porn while addressing a meet at Minto hall in Bhopal.
Shivraj received a big boost in the by polls as the BJP won 19 seats and solidified its majority in the assembly.
CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan's stature in BJP is gradually rising. He will attend the closing ceremony of the Tamil Nadu BJP unit's 'Vel Yatra' on December 7 at Thiruchendur. By inviting Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP is trying to end the religious procession on a high note. The party is trying to send a message to regional parties of Tamil Nadu about its seriousness in state politics.

3. Arvind Kejriwal, 53%, down 4%
Arvind Kejriwal who has been in competition with UP CM for the No. 1 spot saw a decline in both ranking and approval rating this month.
Arvind Kejriwal continued to struggle against 3rd wave of COVID in Delhi and the situation is slowly improving without the need for a lockdown. The spat between Kejriwal and Amarinder Singh continued with Kejriwal accusing the Punjab CM of being under pressure from ED.
4. Vijay Rupani: 51% , down 1%,
After dropping for 2 months, the CM appears to have gained a bit this month. He is now rated as 4th best Chief Minister in this month.
Vijay Rupani Government in Gujarat introduced a new Solar policy. Under the new policy, the state government has scrapped the condition that the installed capacity of a solar project needs to be 50% of the sanction load or contract demand.
4. Sarbananda Sonowal, 51%, down 4%.
As Assam election approches, the Chief Minister of Assam has been able to gain the ranking despite losing some of the rating. He is in 4th position along with Chief Minister of Gujarat.
After being quite active in November and showing an improvement in the COVID situation in Assam, the CM sees an improvement in ratings.
After providing free scooters to meritorious girl students, now Assam government will be providing free scooters to male students.
Mr. Sonowal recently inaugurated a water supply project in Guwahati. The Assam Government launched a new scheme Orundoi. The scheme will provide Rs 830 per month to 1.8 million households
Just ahead of Assembly election of 2021, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal got a political boost after BJP won 9 seats in BTC election. BJP along with UPPL and GSP formed an alliance government in Boroland Council.
5. K Chandrasekhar Rao, 50%, up 9%.
KCR faced two back to defeats in last 2 months electorally. First his party lost Dubbaka and in GHMC election TRS lost close to 50% seats that it had won in last election. However, KCR seemed to have gained a lot after his stand over farm bill and farmers. He gained 9% in his overall rating last month.
6. Jai ram Thakur, 50%
The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh makes a new entry into Best Chief Minister of India list. He shares the 5th position with Telangana Chief Minister K Chadrashekhar Rao.
6. Y S Jagan Reddy, 49%, down 7%,
YS Jagan is facing lot of heat in his after the new of demolition of Hindu temple surfaced. Not just BJP, even N Chandrababu Naidu's TDP have starte branding his government as Christian government. As per CM rating is concerned he lost big 7% in new survey.
COVID cases have moved to manageable levels in the state. In the meanwhile the State Government has launched a new Insurance scheme
Jagan Reddy announced relief to victims of Cyclone Nivar. The Supreme Court dismissed pleas against the Andhra CM after his complaints against a sitting HC judge.

Bhupesh Baghel is one Congress CM who has made among the Top 10 Chief Ministers. He gained 4% in approval rating and from bottom 10 he is now in Top 10 ranking.
Chhattisgarh has launched a E-Category registration system that prioritises Government contracts to unemployed local engineers and diploma holders
8. BS Yeddyurappa: 47% down 2%
Karnataka CM BS Yedyurappa saw a boost in rank but lost 2% apporval rating this months. He has been in news after his cabinet brought an ordinance banning the slaughter of Cow.
The CM had a good month post the by polls victory apart from the Ex CM Siddaramaiah attacked him for botching up the state's economy.
9.Uddhav Thackeray, 46%, down 5%
Uddhave Thackeray after making a big jump last month has lost big this month both in terms of ranking as well as approval rating. His stand on renaming Aurangabad to Sambhajinagar has been in news this week.
As the Aurangabad Corporation election approaches, Maharastra CM Uddhav Thackeray urged the Centre to issue a notification of renaming the Aurangabad airport. In March 2020, Maharashtra cabinet had decided to rename the Aurangabad Airport after Sambhaji Maharaj.
Apart from the usual SHS and BJP politics, the CM announced a massive flood relief for those affected by Floods. With UP CM Yogi Adityanath's arrival in Mumbai, CM Thackeray said that while they were no jealous of other states, no one could forcibly take business out of the state.
10. Pinarayi Vijayan: 46% up 5%,
Pinjarayi Vijayan is the only Chief Minister gained in apporval rating among the ones who will be facing re-election this year. He has made his way into Top 10 Chief Minister list for this month.
While the case against a key aide of CM Vijayan worsened in October, it appears to have hit a wall when it comes to denting the CM's ratings. If this holds for a month, it could mean that many voters may be suspecting that the case against the CM is a vendetta.
11.Nitish Kumar, 44%, up 4%, Big Jump in rank
Nitish Kumar saw a big jump in rank this month. However, his government and its stability has been in question in last few days. A JDU MLA claimed that in next 6 months there will be change in government in Bihar.
11.Ashok Gehlot, 44%, down 12%, big decrease in rating as well as rank
The party managed to scrape through in the recent Municipal elections. The elections led to numerous politicians having been detected to have COVID leading to the death of two MLAs
12. Trivendra Singh Rawat, 43%, down 1%, increase in rank
CM of Uttarakhand has been able to increase his ranking despite losing 1% approval rating this month.
The CM recently got a reprieve from the Supreme Court with respect to a CBI case against him
13. Pramod Sawant, Rating 42%, New entry in Top 20 list
Goa Chief Minister makes his entry in the list of Top 20 Chief Ministers of India. He is ranked 12th as per this months survey.
14. Mamata Banerjee, 40%, down 4%, Chief Minister of West Bengal, Big decrease in Rank
Mamata Banerjee is witnessing a huge electoral challenge in her state. BJP is posing a serious threat to her re-election. Even in our rating, she has lost both rank as well as approval rating.
Amid the insider-outsider debate in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee held a meeting with state's industralists who are mainly Marwaris and Gujaratis. She tried to specify that a wrong message is being conveyed.
Mamata made some right moves during the Puja while she continues to battle the BJP on the streets. She will need to gain even more if she hopes to return to power. Our latest polls show Mamata in serious trouble in West Bengal as BJP has begun to start making progress in South Bengal as well.

14.ML Khattar: 36%, down 5%
The active Congress party campaign against BJP and Mr. Khattar and it does seem to be hurting him. In the meanwhile the latest CMIE survey reported 27% unemployment in Haryana (highest in the country). In response, the Haryana Government announced reservations for locals in private sector jobs.
An Independent MLA has withdrawn support to the Khattar Government to protest against the handling of Farmer's protests.
15.Hemant Soren, 35%, down 4%
Jharkhan CM Hemant Soren has been in news recently due to a rape charges on him. However, there has been no new news regarding it recently.
Jharkhand is taking longer time to recover from COVID with unemployment rate of 11.8%, only 4 other states are worse than this
The CM is beginning a two day review of the Government's performance starting December 2nd.
16.E Palaniswamy: 26%, down 4%
Tamil Nadu CM E Paliniswamy has lost both rank and approval rating. The upcoming Tamil Nadu election will be a fight for survival for him as well as his party.
There is news that BJP may split the AIADMK a few months before the election and directly contest against the DMK. Looks like an unlikely scenario but here is the article.
