On the back of registering 2-1 T20I series and 2-0 test series win against Bangladesh, India will be looking to continue their fantastic form on home soil when they will host the two-time World T20I champions in the opening T20I at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on 6th December 2019 .
During India’s tour of West-Indies , the Men-in-Blue finished the T20I series 3-0 and clinched both ODI & Test series 2-0. With an aim of revenge, the visitors will hope to kick-start this series with a win.
The series will see the T20I return of players like Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja along with regular captain Virat Kohli who was rested for the side’s last T20i series against Bangladesh .
Sanju Samson replaced Shikhar Dhawan who was ruled out due to a knee injury that he suffered during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
KL Rahul is in perilous form for Karnataka in Syed Mushtaq Ali & Vijay Hazare trophy and he would look to carry his domestic form into T20I with his opening partner Rohit Sharma.
Among others captain Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey and Rishabh Pant look certainly in the middle order. Rishabh Pant will have to show more responsibility on his batting & wicket-keeping skills as the selectors and team management still back him ahead of Sanju Samson. Remaining slots are likely to be taken by Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar .
India and West Indies have played a total of 14 T20Is against each other, out of which India have won eight while West Indies have won five. In the initial years, West Indies had an edge over India but in the last couple of years, India have dominated them. With Kieron Pollard at the helm and the addition of players like Brandon King, Fabian Allen, Sherfane Rutherford, Keserick Williams, Lendl Simomns and Hayden Walsh Junior to the mix, one can expect a strong fight from the World champions.

Player to watch out for
KL Rahul (IND)–
Shikhar Dhawan’s injury has cleared the pathway for KL Rahul at the opening. The Karnataka opener has scored 313 runs in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy at an average of 52.16 and a strike rate of 155.72 including three 50+ scores . Rahul has some outstanding numbers in the T20I format. The right-hand batsman averages 42.34 with an impressive strike rate of 145.37. Rahul returning to opener’s position is likely to give him more chances to take advantage of the power play overs and if he has a good series, he might end up sealing the opening position with Rohit Sharma.
Hayden Walsh Junior (WI)– The US-born leg-spinner shot into limelight courtesy his stupendous performances in the CPL where he claimed 22 wickets at an average of 12.68 but he failed to make the same impact against the Afghans. The West-Indies will hope that Walsh learns from his mistakes and fill that long-standing void of a leg-spinner in their set-up.
West-Indies – Kieron Pollard (C), Fabian Allen, Sheldon Cottrell, Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder, Keemo Paul, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Khary Pierre, Nicholas Pooran, Denesh Ramdin (WK), Sherfane Rutherford, Lendl Simomns, Keserick Williams, Hayden Walsh Jr
