Australian pacer Pat Cummins emerged as the highest paid player in the auction with 15.5 crores, 48-year-old Tambe was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders and few of the U-19 players going to the World Cup in South Africa in January have been taken by different franchises. Here is the complete review of each team:
Mumbai Indians -

Bought: Chris Lynn (2 crore), Nathan Coulter-Nile (8 crore), Saurabh Tiwary (50 lakh), Mohsin Khan (20 lakh), Digvijay Deshmukh (20 lakh), Balwant Rai Singh (20 lakh)
Mumbai Indians were one of the few teams who came to auction for strengthening the backup option. They sealed Chris Lynn for a base price, he will be liking the home condition of Mumbai Indians and it's perfect for his style of play. They went all-out with Chennai Super Kings for getting Nathan Coulter-Nile as the backup option for Malinga and they eventually got him for 8 crore, brought few unknown players from domestics through the opinion of scouting agents and saw the return of Saurabh Tiwary as the backup option in the middle order.
Chennai Super Kings -

Bought: Sam Curran (5.5 crore), Piyush Chawla (6.75 crore), Josh Hazlewood (2 crore), R Sai Kishore (20 lakh).
Similar to Mumbai Indians, their rivals Chennai Super Kings came to auction for getting few back-up option. Lingi Ngidi is one of the injury-prone bowlers going around and missed out last season so Chennai Management decided to go for experienced Josh Hazelwood from Australia and all-rounder Sam Curran from England. CSK coach, Fleming said the cutters of Sam Curran will be helping the team in death overs. They added two more players into the spin attack, experienced and World Cup winner, Piyush Chawla and local boy, Sai Kishore. He was the leading wicket-taker of Syed Mushtaq Ali 2019.
Retained: Retained: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Keemo Paul, Ravichandran Ashwin (T), Ajinkya Rahane (T), Sandeep Lamichhane.
Bought: Jason Roy (1.5 crore), Chris Woakes (1.5 crore), Alex Carey (2.4 crore), Shimron Hetmyer (7.75 crore), Mohit Sharma (50 lakh), Tushar Deshpande (20 lakh), Marcus Stoinis (4.8 crore), Lalit Yadav (20 lakh).
Delhi management missed out a few players during the auction but the biggest positive was getting Shimron Hetmyer and Alex Carey into the middle order. The big whole will be an ideal backup for Rabada, during last year they had Trent boult but he has been traded to Mumbai & they couldn't find a ideal replacement as they bought Stoinis and Woakes into the side. As the replacement for Munro, they have got world cup winner Jason Roy and few Indian fast bowling backups like Mohit Sharma and Tushar Deshpande.
Kings X1 Punjab -
Retained: KL Rahul, Karun Nair, Mohammed Shami, Nicholas Pooran, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Chris Gayle, Mandeep Singh, Mayank Agarwal, Hardus Viljoen, Darshan Nalkande, Sarfaraz Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Harpreet Brar, Murugan Ashwin, Krishnappa Gowtham (T), Suchith (T)

Kumble and company had the best time during the auction. They choose and went for the right players at a reasonable rate. They spend near to 20 crore for Cottrell and Maxwell then picked the likes of Jordan, Neesham, Ishan Porel to fill a few spots and backups at a minimum amount. Tajinder Dhillon, Prabhsimran Singh and Ravi Bishnoi are few talents in shorter format setup and this will help Punjab during any time in the season. They had issues in the middle order and lower order in 2019 season but they have filled all the wholes & looking set for next season.
Sun risers Hyderabad -

Bought: Virat Singh (1.9 crore), Priyam Garg (1.9 crore), Mitchell Marsh (2 crore), Sandeep Bavanaka (20 lakh), Fabian Allen (50 lakh), Abdul Samad (20 lakh), Sanjay Yadav (20 lakh).
Hyderabad management was not much impressive in the auction, went with the middle order issues and finished without setting the middle-order. They have bought Virat Singh and Priyam Garg for the middle-order slots but the inexperience might backfire in next season and lots of work need to be done by the top order consisting of Warner, Bairstow, Williamson, and Manish Pandey. They took Fabian Allen as the replacement for Shakib and added Mitchell Marsh into the all-rounder setup.
Rajasthan Royals -
Retained: Steve Smith, Sanju Samson, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Riyan Parag, Shashank Singh, Shreyas Gopal, Mahipal Lomror, Varun Aaron, Manan Vohra, Ankit Rajpoot (T), Mayank Markande (T), Rahul Tewatia (T)

Rajasthan management comes to the auction with a clear mind-set for getting back up overseas players and few Indian batsmen & fast bowlers. They bought Tom Curran, Oshane Thomas, Andrew Tye and David Miller but missed out on a backup option for Ben Stokes. Indian U-19 star Jaiswal might be opening with Jos Buttler and Robin Uthappa will be adding few experiences into the side. Akash Singh and Karthik Tyagi will be giving flexibility to the bowling setup with Unadkat and Rajpoot.
Kolkata Knight Riders -
Retained: Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav, Shubman Gill, Lockie Ferguson, Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Sandeep Warrier, Harry Gurney, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi, Siddhesh Lad (T).

Kolkata management did their home works and bring some fresh faces in the top order, middle order and in the pace attack. They are having some big names in overseas list likes of Cummins, Morgan, Banton, Narine, Russell who can start in the X1 for any IPL side. They have bought some good backups in the spin attack including M Siddarth, Chris Green, Varun Chakaravarthy and 48-year-old Tambe who will be giving his valuable experience to these young players. Management has added Tripathi and Nikhil Naik in the side as Indian batting backups for the next season.
Royal Challengers Banglore -
Retained: Virat Kohli, Moeen Ali, Yuzvendra Chahal, AB de Villiers, Parthiv Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Pawan Negi, Umesh Yadav, Gurkeerat Mann, Devdutt Padikkal, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini

Bangalore released 6 overseas players before the auction but with limited money on their hand, they have done well adding Australian captain Finch, the young sensation from Australia Joshua Philippe, experienced Dale Steyn & Chris Morris will be adding lots of value into the side , Sri Lankan all-rounder Isuru Udana will be handy with bat late down the order and has the ability to nail down some yorker but still, only four overseas players are allowed in the X1 so they have to depend more on Indian pacers like last season. They made a mistake by giving 4 CR for Kane Richardson especially there were much better options and has 6.40 CR left in purse. They are still lacking Indian depth but have included Pavan Deshpande and Shahbaz Ahamad from domestics.
