1. Noble Prize Winners
Two Pakistanis have won the Nobel Peace Prize: the late Abdus Salam, a theoretical physicist who in 1979 shared the Nobel Prize in physics for his contribution to electroweak unification theory, and Malala Yousafzai, a woman's education activist who in 2014 shared it with Kailash Satyarthi of India. Abdus Salam belonged to Ahmadi Minority therefore his success was not celebrated back home.
2. Economic Growth of Pakistan
In 2019, Economic growth of Pakistan slowed to 3.3 per cent, a 2.2 per cent drop from the previous year. The fiscal deficit increased from 6.4 to nearly 9 per cent over the same period. Inflation soared to five year high. In June 2019, Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa was appointed to the National Development Council, a new committee responsible for major economic decisions.
3. Defence budget and Education Budget
Pakistan Federal Govt spent on Defence is 15 times more than education. The total budget of Pakistan for year 2019-20 was Rs 7022 billion. Out of this Rs 1150 billion was the budget for Pakistan’s Defence same as that of 2018-19 defence expenditure. The budget for Education Affairs and Services was set at Rs 77.26 billion a 20.5 percent decrease from previous years budget of Rs 97.15 billion.
4. Religious Persecution
In 2010, Pakistani Christian woman Aasiya Noreen Bibi was convicted of blasphemy by a Pakistani court and was sentenced to death by hanging. In October 2018, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has acquitted her based on insufficient evidence, though she was not allowed to leave country until the verdict was reviewed. She was held under armed guard and was not able to leave the country until 7 May 2019; she arrived in Canada the next day.
5. World Happiness Index
Pakistan Beats India In Happiness. Pakistan in the 67th position, and India in the 140th position—near the bottom of the list of the 156 countries ranked.
6. Only Muslim Prime Minister
The Constitution of Pakistan requires that the Prime Minister be a member of the National Assembly. As well as he should be a Muslim. Member of National Assembly belonging to any other religion cannot become the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
7. World Global Hunger Index
20.3 percent of population of Pakistan is undernourished. In 2019 it ranked 94 in World Global Hunger Index, eight spots ahead of India.
8. National Sport
Field Hockey is the national sport of Pakistan. However, it ranks 17th as per the FIH World Rankings 2019. India ranks at number 5. In cricket Pakistan ranks 6th while India ranks at 2 in ICC Men ODI ranking.
9. Benazir Bhutto
Late Benazir Bhutto, former Prime Minister of Pakistan was the first women to head a democratic government in any Muslim majority country.
10. Forced Conversion
According to 2019 Religious Minority Report complied by Members of European Parliament, stated that every year atleast 1000 girls are forcibly converted to Islam. The numbers may be probably more due to understating.
