Former West Indian fast bowler Pattric Patterson (17 wickets in 6 matches ) holds the record of most wickets in a bilateral ODI series against India in India.
This was only the second time that an opposition team won a 5-match bilateral ODI series against India after being 0-2 down. Pakistan was the only other team who achieved it during their 2005-06 tour.
Rohit Sharma became the joint third fastest batsman with former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly to score 8,000 runs. Rohit, who have hit more than 400 sixes now in international cricket, had crossed MS Dhoni’s record of most sixes for India in ODIs(217). No player has now hit more sixes in ODI & T20I cricket for India than Sharma.

First time India lost an ODI after scoring 350-plus runs while batting first. 359 for 6 was the joint highest team score of Australia in India with 359 for 5 (Jaipur in 2013).
The series win in India has marked a big resurgence in Australia’s fortunes across formats. They have won 27 and lost just 6 matches after that series which is the best win-loss ratio among all international teams since then.
Analysis of 2020 India-Australia Series
This series is going to more exciting as the present Australian side is stronger side as compared to the one of 2019 especially with the return of Steven Smith and David Warner. Current sensation in world cricket Marnus Labuschagne will also look to take his Test form into ODI cricket. Australia will miss the firepower of both all-rounders Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis. Both the snubbed Melbourne Stars are in sublime form in the Big Bash League.
On the other hand, Indian team will be more or less the same that played against West-Indies in last ODI at Cuttack. Only headache the team management will face is to choose one between Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul.
Weather Forecast & Pitch Report
Conditions in Mumbai for the first ODI are expected to be warm and humid, with temperatures hitting a high of 27 degrees Celsius. The Wankhede stadium is always a batting paradise and tough task for the bowlers specially while defending a total in the second innings, the reason why captain winning the toss would like to bowl first.
